I develop websites for small businesses and organizations, and personal websites and online portfolios. As a private designer, I can provide my clients with personal one-on-one attention and a website that meets their needs and expectations. To ensure that my customer’s get the best of my attention and ability; I never take on more than two projects at one time.
I meet with my clients face-to-face throughout the development of their website to ensure that my work represents and compliments their product or service, and I allow my clients to follow my work as I develop their website.
Services:
Website Design – We will set up a meeting to discuss your plans and expectations for your website. Once we establish the criteria for your website, I will create the layout for your website. All of my graphics are custom created, so your website will have exactly the look and feel you want. When your website is ready to go live, I upload it and make sure everything is configured and working properly.
Domain Names and Web Hosting - I help you research and secure domain names and get your website hosted with all the tools and resources it needs to be successful. I work only with reputable companies with long-standing reputations for quality and service. I will help you select a hosting service that fits your needs and your budget.If you have existing domains, I can get them pointed properly to your new hosting server.
Training – I provide two one-hour training sessions to teach users how to use Microsoft Live Writer and the built-in editors upload and manage content. I also cover using FTP to transfer files, website maintenance, administrative functions, and creating and managing backups.
Administrative Services – Some of my clients prefer to have me manage the administrative functions of their website. This includes maintaining backups and updates, monitoring website traffic, performing SEO functions, account administration, and managing any server-side issues and support requests.
Platforms
The sites I build are designed to work with either WordPress or Joomla. WordPress is a well-developed open source blogging platform. WordPress is very flexible and easy to work with, and has a huge library of extensions and plug-ins to enhance or add functionality and features. WordPress is a perfect platform for most websites. Joomla is similar to WordPress, but is designed more to support corporate level websites. Joomla accommodates more sophisticated database functions, and has greater support for multiple user accounts.
Fees:
The costs associates with web development and hosting vary depending on the requirements and functions of the website.So prices may vary a bit. the fees below are based on typical website configurations:
1-6 Pages – Including a loading page, contact page, and informational pages
Limited multimedia – basic audio and video embedding, no flash or java scripting
Personal or Sole Proprietor sites
Domain and Web Hosting Setup – I charge $25 to register and point domain names. If you need web hosting, I’ll set up your domain names and your web hosting server for $100. This includes installing WordPress or Joomla, installing plugins and extensions, creating essential user accounts and e-mail accounts.
Web Design – Basic websites start at $150, and meet the criteria for typical website configuration posted above.
Maintenance and Administration – Many of my clients elect to have me do the routine maintenance and updates on their web servers and, and handle any technical issues with the hosting company. I typically charge $25 a month per website for this service. I also include creating a local backup of your website.
