Greetings! My name is James O’Brien. I am a computer and network support specialist with more than eleven years in the IT industry. During the course of my career, I have worked for great companies like Stream International, Dell Computers, Southwestern Bell and Pacific Bell, Puget Custom Computers, Denali Advanced Integration, and Northwest computer Support. I also owned and operated my own company providing onsite computer and network support services to businesses throughout Hunt County, Texas. I am currently employed at Denali Advanced Integration as a Desktop Support Technician II.
I enjoy the challenges that come with working in IT support. I enjoy learning and employing new advancements in computer technology. The computer industry changes constantly, so I am learning constantly. But more than that, what I enjoy most about working in support is helping people understand and utilize the technology in the course of their work and daily lives. I have three years experience providing help desk support for three major ISP’s, a leading computer manufacture, and customer system builder specializing in building state-of-the-art high performance computer systems.
Field Support – Whether in a business or private environment, I arrive onsite on time, prepared, and ready to work. My customer service skills, my technical skills, and my strong work ethic make me an excellent field technician. I also have seven years of experience as a technical consultant and as a field technician.
Network Installation and Support – I have installed literally miles of network cable and network equipment including routers, servers, and hubs in business and residential environments. I have excellent troubleshooting skills with TCP/IP connections. And I am very proficient at installing and configuring wireless networks and network devices.
Graphics Development – Although I am a self-taught student of graphical and web design, I do have experience and skill set creating beautiful layouts for websites, graphics, and photo layouts for business and personal use, I am also good at doing custom photo designs and photo restoration. My Current Status:
I am currently working in a full-time position in an IT role in Redmond, Washington. However, I am available and interested in pursuing part-time or per diem work for projects outside my regular work hours or on the weekends.

Photograph Restoration – I have experience fixing faded or damaged photographs. Although this is a skill I have been developing for only the past three years, I have become reasonable proficient at producing good quality restoration. Photograph Retouching – My background in photograph retouching is along the same time-line as my background in photograph restoration. I can add or remove elements from virtually any photograph, take ordinary photographs and turn them into professional-looking displayable artwork. Denali Advanced Integration – From Contractor to Employee
I have been promoted from a contractor with Denali Advanced Integration, to a full-time employee!
My Roles and duties with Denali AI include:
Tier 1 Help Desk Support Technician – Providing telephone based technical support for a large medical services provider in the Pacific Northwest.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Documenting and resolving computer and network issues over the phone for Windows XP and Windows 7 based computers.
Resolving user account access issues through Active Directory.
Escalating unresolved issues to appropriate technical groups.
Desktop Support II – Installation and configuration of computer and network equipment in a brand new medical services facility under construction in Issaquah, Washington.
Duties and responsibilities:
Physically installed complex computer and network equipment. Mounted hardware in office and clinical environments. Assembled and deployed desktop workstations with mounted monitor arms and computer cages. Installed wall-mount and cart-mounted small form factor PC’s and thin clients.

SMC Project comes to an end
My work on the Swedish Medical Center project in Issaquah Washington has come to an end. My next assignment is in help desk support for Denali Advanced Integration. I will also be working on server move projects.
Starting SMC Project
